Program Full Description

Pre-professional program provides a foundation for continued study toward a bachelor's degree in Special Education. Students pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education are provided with the fundamental knowledge of individuals with special needs. Demonstrate knowledge of exceptionalities linked to assessment, planning, and implementation of special educational strategies.

Describe theories and beliefs about teaching and learning of students with exceptionalities.

Identify special education law and its impact on the profession.

Identify complexities of the relationship with families of individuals with disabilities to support and advocate for the child's learning and well-being.
